Isobutane (R600a)
C4H10
Isobutane (R600a) is supplied as a liquid under its own vapour pressure in cylinders and in T50 ISO containers for international transport as well as road trailers and rail cars. It is widely used due to its low environmental impact and excellent thermodynamic performance and it is the refrigerant gas of choice in domestic and small commercial refrigerators outside of the USA. It also has applications as a heat transfer fluid in the geothermal industry.
